A long history
Founded in 1805 by Mrs. Elizabeth Keir, The Royal Society for Home Support (RSHS) has evolved from providing in-home relief to individuals with incurable diseases to adapting its mission to modern needs. Originally focused on aiding those unable to work due to illness, RSHS obtained a Royal Charter in 1903, persisting in its support efforts even after the establishment of the Welfare State. With societal and medical advancements, RSHS sought a Supplementary Royal Charter from King Charles III, refreshing its name and operations. Today, as RSHS, the organisation remains committed to offering essential support to individuals unable to work due to health reasons, continuing its legacy of compassion and assistance.
