Barbara Finlayson
Barbara retired in 2018 having worked as a solicitor for over 44 years, mostly in private practice but latterly in the KLTR (then QLTR) Office. Experienced in charity governance, she also serves on a number of Church of Scotland Committees. She brings an interest in and a concern for people. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, music and theatre.
Ian Turnbull
Ian is a retired solicitor with 40 years experience of private practice including 20 years as Managing Partner of a leading Edinburgh law firm. He brings legal and commercial skills along with significant experience of charity governance both from advising clients and sitting on the Boards of major Scottish charities. He enjoys hillwalking, golf, travel and the theatre.
Katie McNeill
Katie worked primarily within Social Care Department (Crossreach) of the Church of Scotland – involving Management of List D Schools, managing the Edinburgh Night Shelter and Addiction projects. While bringing up children worked as a volunteer Adviser with Citizens Advice, covering a remarkably diverse range of issues – Housing, Consumer issues, Employment, Benefits etcetera. Currently helping with dementia singing group in Drylaw, Scottish Workplace Chaplaincy, choral singing, theological studies, cycling and Scottish Country Dancing.
Nola Meikle
I trained in Oxford as an Occupational Therapist after I left school. I have worked mostly in Edinburgh but also spent time in London and South Africa. Consequently I have wide knowledge and experience of rehabilitation both in physical and psychiatric settings. I was vice chair on the board of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists also Chair of the Edinburgh Citizens Advice Bureau. I enjoy theatre and music also narrowboating on the canals.
Sandy Young
Sandy Young, is a former Member of both The Edinburgh Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange. He retired several years ago.
Kevin Hanley
Kevin has worked in the asset management industry for over 20 years and is currently employed as an Institutional Client Manager at abrdn. Prior to joining abrdn, Kevin spent 15 years at Martin Currie Investment Management, and 3 years at Aegon Asset Management. He holds the CFA UK Investment Management Certificate and the CFA UK Certificate in ESG Investing.
Nigel Malcolm-Smith
After having been the Society’s Doctor for a number of years, Nigel was invited to join the Society’s Board so that RSHS could continue to benefit from his input in relation to prospective annuitants.
Fozia Nazir
Fozia is an NHS neurologist specialising in acute stroke management based in Glasgow. She has a particular focus on inequity in healthcare. When not at work she enjoys running and listening to podcasts.
